Beenie Man

Beenie Man is the stage name of Anthony Moses Davis, born August 22 1973 in Kingston, Jamaica. He is a reggae artist and dancehall DJ who started DJing from a very early age (around six) and had released an album, The Invincible Beenie Man aged ten. A year later he recorded some material with Barrington Levy which wasn’t released for another decade (Murderation released as a 7″ by Yaga Yaga 1995, there are also two tracks featuring Beenie Man on the album Barrington Levy’s D.J Counteraction)

These days Beenie Man is perhaps best known for the controversy surrounding some homophobic lyrics which led to concerts being cancelled from 2004 onwards.
